A Prophy Cup is a small, soft rubber or silicone cup used in dentistry for polishing teeth during a professional cleaning (prophylaxis). It is mounted on a low-speed dental handpiece and used with an abrasive polishing paste to remove plaque, biofilm, and surface stains from tooth surfaces.
